Présentation

Depuis la création de l'Espace européen de l'éducation, le Conseil européen a encouragé la création d'universités européennes. Après trois appels dans le cadre du programme Erasmus +, 50 alliances ont été créées.

L'enjeu est aujourd'hui d'assurer le fonctionnement des universités européennes sur le long terme.

L'Union européenne a financé des projets pilotes visant à explorer l'institutionnalisation des universités européennes. Le projet « EGAI » vise à examiner, tester et faciliter l'utilisation d'un Groupement Européen d'Intérêt Economique (GEIE) comme instrument l'institutionnalisation de la coopération académique et propose la création d'un nouveau groupement : le Groupement Européen d'Intérêt Académique (GEIE).

Cette conférence explorera les aspects juridiques de l'institutionnalisation de la coopération européenne et jettera les bases des universités européennes. Tout d'abord, il explorera la raison d'être des universités européennes et des entités juridiques qui leur sont associées. Deuxièmement, il explorera les défis juridiques posés par la coopération institutionnalisée. Troisièmement, il examinera des solutions susceptibles d'ouvrir la voie à des universités européennes durables.
